“Magical Muscat” – Muscat City Tour (Half-Day)

Your tour starts with a visit of the Grand Mosque standing in stately grandeur. A visit to this beautiful piece of architecture is a must for all tourists (open daily for visitors, between 0800–1100 Hrs, except Fridays). Drive through Embassy district and along Corniche/Qurum park to Mattrah.

Then visit the Fish and vegetable markets in Muttrah. Feel free to mingle with the crowd. Visit the Muttrah Souq where you will find a mix of old and new. Sights, sounds and fragrances are in abundance. We then drive past the Corniche and to the capital area before we take a photo stop at the Sultan’s Palace flanked by the 16th Century Portuguese forts of Jalali and Mirani. We visit Bait Al Zubair Museum for a fine display of Omani culture and history. Photo stop at Al Bustan Palace Hotel. Return to the Hotel.

REMARKS – Dress code to Grand Mosque – Women should wear attire covering their arms and legs and should cover their head with scarf. Men should wear normal shirt and trousers.

“Muscat by Night” – Muscat City Tour (Half-Day)

A chance to see Muscat at its best, your guide will show you the highlights of this magical city, made all the more dramatic, with an evening tour. First stop is The Sabco Centre has multiple retail outlets and a traditional souk. The souk has numerous shops that sell silver jewellery, handicrafts and clothes range of silk rugs, wall hangings, table linen and cushion covers, fabulous gifts for your friends or your own home. The newly opened flag ship store of Amouage perfume is a must for all visitors so you can sample “The most Valuable perfume in the world”.

We then continue onto the recently opened Bait Al Baranda museum and Al Dhalam Souk, Oman’s largest indoor market. At the Souk, built in traditional style, you will find exquisite silver jewellery, frankincense, intricately hand-made Khanjars (daggers) and other handicrafts. Your guide will also show you the local Omani sweet Halwa from one of the shops within.

The tour continues east along the Corniche to Muttrah (Old Muscat). Nearby is His Majesty Sultan Qaboos’s Al Alam Royal Palace protected in the bay by the famous twin forts of Jalali and Mirani, rebuilt by the Portuguese around 1558.

Finally, we drive back along the Corniche taking time to stop for photo opportunities along the way as this area is particularly stunning by night. Its old merchant houses are lit by multi coloured lights, there are coloured fountains all set against the back drop of the port.

“A Journey to the Past” – Nizwa / Bahla / Jabrin Fort (Day Trip)
Recommended Starting Time :– 0830 Hrs (Except Fridays)
Duration :- 8 Hours


A journey to the past through the Sumail Gap that divides the Western and Eastern Hajars and onto the Old Capital of Oman, Nizwa, famous for its silver souq and a big round fort. After visiting the souq and the fort, we take our lunch from a local restaurant. After lunch, move to Bahla with the huge loam fort which is under renovation at present. Bahla is also known as the pottery capital of Oman. Because of its cultural value, Bahla is placed in the UNESCO’s list of heritage monuments. Next visit is Jabrin fort, where you will find one of the most magnificent forts of Oman with its painted ceiling, dungeons, and hidden passages. Return to Muscat in the evening.

REMARKS – Recommend starting time on Friday’s is at 0700 Hrs, as all Forts close at 1100hrs. The Friday tour will include a visit to the famous Goat Market in Nizwa.

“Fascinating Forts” – Nakhl / Rustaq (Day trip)
Recommended Starting Time :– 0830 Hrs
Duration :- 8 Hours


First stop is at Barka, a seaside town with small souqs and a fort along the shoreline. As you approach Nakhl, keep an eye out for the fortress that sits on a hillock outside the town. The fort’s origin is pre- Islamic with major contributions by the Al Ya’ruba and the Al Bu Sayed dynasties. We visit the fort. Visit the mineral-laden hot springs water in Nakhl. Picnic lunch in one of the many shades. We then take photo stop at the Rusatq pre-Islamic fort, Before heading back to Muscat.

REMARK – The Rustaq Fort is currently under renovations and will be closed for public until further notice. Only an outside photo stop will be permitted.

“Desert Safari” – Wahiba Sands & Wadi Bani Khalid (Day trip) 4WD

We board a/c 4wd as you drive though the Hajar Mountains. We travel to Fanjah, where we stop to take photos of an abandoned village. We drive through the Sumail Gap that divides the Western and Eastern Hajars. See the ruins of the old mercantile community in Al Mansfah which saw its heydays hundreds of years ago in Ibra. Head towards the enchanting Wadi Bani Khalid. Drive past the village with its endless date plantations. Reach the magnificent Wadi. The pools are cool, deep and absolutely stunning. From here, proceed to Wahiba, the undulating golden sands. Lunch at local restaurant. Indulge in some thrilling Dune Bashing and then visit the Bedouin settlement before returning back to Muscat the evening.

“The Grand Canyon of Oman” – Jebel Shams (Day trip) 4WD

Depart Muscat in the morning is a/c 4WD and travel via Fanjah, Izki and Nizwa. Stop at Nizwa for a stroll through the Old Capital of Oman. Drive to Al Hamra and stop at the old village of Ghul to see the abandoned Persian ruins. From here we drive along Wadi Nakhr, also referred to as the Grand Canyon with breathtaking views. At the end of the Wadi is a village where rugs with bright colors and designs are made by local weavers. Visit the local weaver and haggle for their wares. From here we make our way up to Jebel Shams, the highest peak in Oman at 3000 metres. From here you will have an outstanding view deep into the Grand Canyon of Oman. Picnic lunch near the rim. Visit the local weaver and haggle for their wares. On our way back, we will stop at Misfat Al Abrein, a picturesque village strapped on to the side of a mountain. As you walk around this beautiful village where time has come to a standstill, you will be moved by the simplicity and friendliness of the people. Return to Muscat late in the evening.

“Cool and Green” – Jebel Akhdar (Day trip) 4WD

Depart in the morning by a/c 4WD. Stop at Fanjah for a photo stop to view an abandoned village. You then drive to Birkat al Mouz, a pretty oasis known for its sheer scenic value. Drive to the roof of Oman, the Saiq Plateau which for hundreds of years has been accessible only by donkeys. The sight of terraced gardens is very interesting. A variety of fruits like, pomegranates, apricot, and lemon are grown here. There are rose gardens here and they bloom in April. Picnic lunch in the shades. There are interesting walks in Wadi Bani Habib, Shrejaya, Al Ain and Aqur. The weather here is cool and dry. Return to Muscat late in the evening.

“Coastal Trek” – Wadi Shab (Saloon Car)

Travel through the Coast from Muscat to Quriyat and over the plateau down to the narrow coastal track. Reach Wadi Shab. Take a hike up one of Oman’s scenic wadis. Picnic lunch. At the end of Wadi Shab there is a swim through the famous keyhole into the secluded world thrilling of fantasy. Relax a while. Return to Muscat.

“Coastal Trek” – Wadi Shab (4WD)

Depart Muscat in the morning on a journey down the coast stopping at the fishing village of Quriyat and then proceed to Bimah Sinkhole, a geological feature and a scenic wonder. Further on is the white sandy beach of Mokhalla in Fins. From here it is a short drive to Wadi Shaab, where you can take a hike up one of Oman’s scenic wadis. At the end of the hike is a swim though a famous keyhole into the secluded world of thrilling fantasy. Picnic Lunch. We will drive to the lushes Wadi Tiwi, known as the “George of Nine Villages” before returning to Muscat

“Mandoos-The Chest of Oman”- Wadi Sahtan (Day trip) 4WD

We start in the morning in a/c 4WD and drive to the north along the Batinah coast. The first stop is at the Seeb fish Souq where you can see the fishermen with their catch. From here we drive to Wadi Sahtan which is a turnoff from Rustaq roundabout. This road is a connector with the interior town of Ibri via Wadi Bani Ghaffir, Wadi Mabrah and Wadi Hidaq. Drive through the narrow tracks and dodging boulders at the entrance of the Wadi. Picnic lunch under the shades. We then reach the Sahtan Bowl, which old timers refer to as the “Mandoos” or “The Chest of Oman”, because it is so secluded. Observe the small settlements set amoungst lush plantations. Return to Muscat.

“Magnificent Remote Village” – Billad Sayt (Day trip) 4WD

Leave Muscat in the morning and drive along the Batinah coast. At Rustaq there is a turn off to a beautiful wadi, Wadi Bani Awf. If canyoning is your cup of tea there is a Snake Canyon where you can hike and even have a swim. After a spectacular drive up the mountain road, you reach the secluded village of Billad Sayt, where your eyes are treated to an amazing view, of Palm groves and terraced gardens between the stone walls, Picnic lunch under the shades. Return to Muscat.

“Wadis and Mountains” – Wadi Abyadh and Wekan Village (Day trip) 4WD
Recommended Starting Time :– 0830 Hrs
Duration :- 8 Hours


Leave Muscat. Head towards Barka, where we will visit the Camel Breeding Farm, which is home to 100’s of Omani thoroughbreds. We then proceed to Wadi Abyadh. On the way you will see a picturesque village set among date plantations. Enjoy the crystal clear rock pools and experience an adrenaline rush with some wadi bashing. Later we travel to Wadi Mistal which cuts through the Hajar Mountain Ranges. After a 30 km drive through the wadi, we reach the face of a mountain which is ophiolite; there are two villages here, Hadash and Wekan. Picnic lunch. We turn towards the right and drive up the steep and winding rock, to visit the agricultural village of Wekan which is 1700m above sea level. Marvel at the beautiful landscape and enjoy the cool and pleasant weather here. You will find Pomegranates, grapes, walnuts, apricots and dates grown here. Return to Muscat.

“Dazzling Dolphins” – Dolphin watch (minimum 2pax)

COASTAL JOURNEY TO THE TURTLE SANCTUARY

DAY 01 – MUSCAT – QURIYAT – BIMAH – FINS BEACH – WADI TIWI – SUR – RAS AL HADD

Depart early morning at 9.00 am drive through the mountains and the coastal road through Quriyat and stop at the Bimah sinkhole, a natural geological formation of the karst topography and a scenic wonder. From here drive along the coast to the beautiful white sandy Fins beach. After a swim in the sea have an early picnic lunch at the beach.

Then drive to Wadi Tiwi. The track winds and bumps past dwellings and through date plantations. This is a nice journey through this peaceful and fertile area, where palms reach to the sky and Bananas grow in profusion. The water from the mountains flows through sparkling pools and tiny waterfalls. A wide variety of native plants thrive, including tall grasses and rushes, wildflowers and ubiquitous pink oleander. It is possible to pull off the track and indulge yourself by taking a lazy walk amongst the pools. Tiwi is known as “the gorge of nine villages.”

The road ends at the village of Mybam at about 36 km which takes about an hour to reach. From here drive to Qalhat,
where you will find the Tomb of Bibi Mariam (currently under resoration), the only building left standing after the town was
razed by the Portuguese in 1503. Drive along the coastal road towards Sur the old East African Port. From here drive to Ras Al Hadd and check-in at Ras Al Hadd Hotel.

Late evening drive to Ras Al Jinz to observe the nesting habits of the green turtles. Return to the Hotel just before midnight.

DAY 02 – RAS AL HADD – WADI BANI KHALID – MUSCAT

After breakfast, we’ll move along the coast to the cliffs at Ad Daffah and on to the interior, visiting the Rashid Al Hamoda Mosque, Bedouin Camps in the Desert Woodlands (Wahibah Sands).

We will head to the mountains looking for that long lost “Shangri-La”, Wadi Bani Khalid. Here we will
find an oasis of clear running waters and verdant plant life, a veritable heaven on earth.Lunch at a local restaurant.

Later we’ll stop at Al Mansfah, the old mercantile community, before returning to Muscat through the mountains via the Sumail Gap. Drop off at your Hotel in Muscat.

GOLDEN SANDS OF SHARQIYA AND THE CRYSTAL WADI TOUR

DAY 1 – MUSCAT – COASTAL ROAD – WAHIBA

We will leave by 4 WD and drive along the coastal road to Sur via Quriyat. On the way we stop at Bimah sinkhole, a geological wonder. From here it’s a short distance to the Fins Beach. At fins we will stop for picnic lunch. Later we move onto the beautiful Wadi Tiwi, also known as the gorge of the nine villages. The drive will take you though Crystal clear water of the wadi and lush greenery and date plams.

We then head to Sur, the old East African Port. Visit dhow yards where dhows were once being made by hand. Visit a typical Omani village. From here we will pass through woodlands of Al Kamal before reaching the Golden undulating sand of the Wahiba. Indulge in dune bashing.

After a time of relaxation in the tranquility of the desert, head up to one of the dunes to watch the sundown. The sight is as if the desert swallows the sun. Later head back to the camp for dinner.

DAY 2 – WAHIBA – MUSCAT

After breakfast, leave the camp and visit a Bedouin settlement to experience the life style and hospitality of the Bedu. Later, we drive through interesting sights and as the Omani ambience takes hold, we will head into the mountains looking for that long lost “Shangri-La”, Wadi Bani Khalid. Here we will find an oasis of clear running waters and verdant plant life, a veritable heaven on earth

Later we will make our way back to Muscat passing through the Sumail Gap that divides the
Western and Eastern Hajar mountains.

JOURNEY TO THE PAST WITH AMAZING ADVENTURE

DAY 1 – NIZWA – BAHLA – JABREEN

We will seek out to the Old Capital of Oman, Nizwa. Visit the big round fort of the Yarubas dynasty. Take a stroll in down town. Feel free to mingle with the crowd and let the Omani ambience take hold of you. The town is still a bustling centre for crafts and the silver Souq is the best in Oman.

Later we will seek out the village ruins of Old Tanuf, we navigate our way through narrow roads of the village, admiring the elaborate Falaj that runs along the edge of the wadi. Further we will continue on a rough track at come to a sigh declaring these are “God’s Own Hills’, a little garden of Eden filled with acacia sport powdery blooms of yellow, humming of bees and sweet aroma fumes the air in winter time. Picnic Lunch at an ideal
location.

From here drive on to Bahla, the oldest recorded region of civilization in Oman. There is a huge loam fort, which is at present under renovation. Because of its cultural importance, the town is listed in UNESCO’s list of heritage monuments. Bahla is also known as the pottery capital of Oman. From here it is a short distance to the mighty bastion of Jabrin and the crown seat of the Yarubas Dynasty. Archaeologists and onlookers alike have marvelled at the style and architecture of this fort. This is one of the few forts designed as a residence where the wooden doors are elegantly carved out and the latticework on the windows are ornate. Return To Nizwa.

DAY 2 – NIZWA – MISFAH – WADI BANI AWF – MUSCAT

In the Morning drive back to Nizwa town and visit the Goat Market (Only on Friday morning).

Proceed towards Al Hamra through the mountains and then descend down to visit an old village reminding of Yemenite architecture. From here we make our way to see the geological wonders at Al Hoota Cave, a formation of stalactites and stalagmites are a real beauty.

Later, we will visit the beautiful rocky village of Misfat al Abrein. The mountain village is set amidst stunning landscape and has hardly changed over the years except for some developmental works like roads, electricity and telecommunication works benefiting the residents. The most striking feature of this village is the ancient houses perched on top of mountains surrounded by green date palms that run up the heights. The flourishing date palms on the mountains, is a rare sight as in most other areas they grow on the plains.

From here we make our way to the remote village of Billad Sayt and reach the Snake canyon in wadi Bani Awf. The name Snake Canyon refers to the serpentine effect created by the water cutting through the mountains and the wadi snaking through. Snake Canyon cuts into the mountains and offers a fantastic trip past waterfalls, through rocks pools and over boulders. We enjoy picnic lunch under the shades.

After lunch, drive towards Rustaq for a photo stop of a pre-Islamic fort. Continue the drive from Rustaq to Ain Towarah to visit the mineral laden hot springs. From here, proceed to Nakhl and visit the Nakhl Fort, spectacularly perched on a rocky prominence of the Western Hajar. Return to Muscat and check-in at Intercontinental Hotel

THE GRAND CANYON OF OMAN

DAY 1 – MUSCAT – WADI BANI AWF – JABEL SHAMS

Leave in the morning and proceed on a journey into the Western Hajars. On the way from Nakhl to Rutaq is a turn off to Wadi Bani Kharus. The scenic mountain scenery is varied by falaj systems, deep pools and isolated villages with an architecture that is similar to the one in Yemen. From here proceed to Nakhl to see a 17th century fortress that is spectacularly perched on a rocky prominence in the foothills of the Western Hajars. Nakhl is also famous for its mineral-laden hot springs. Later make your way through Wadi Bani Awf to Bilad Sayt one of the most beautiful remote villages. The path through the narrow gorge is a connection between two little settlements. Enjoy a picnic lunch.

After lunch, It is a spectacular drive through the mountains to Al Hamra. Here head towards the mountains we stop at the old village of Ghul to see the abandoned Persian village. Wadi Nakhr is the bed that comes out of a canyon alongside the village. This is the start of the Wadi Nakhr Gorge and it winds for several kilometers into the jebels to become the Grand Canyon of Oman. Drive on to near Jebel Shams, the tallest peak in Oman at 10, 000 feet. From the rim of the canyon you can see the village of Nakhr about 2 kilometers straight down. As you continue on your drive, You will come across the Shuwawis (mountain people) hawking their blankets and carpets.

DAY 2 – JABEL SHAMS – NIZWA – MUSCAT

The Dhow will anchor at Telegraph Island during the cruise for swimming and snorkelling in pristine waters teeming with friendly colorful fish. Full Day Dhow Cruise to Khor Sham with Lunch

Using 4 Wheel Drive vehicles, make a trip to the Jebel Harim, translated as “Mountain of Woman “with 2.087m the highest mountain in Musandam. The drive encompasses spectacular scenic routes through mountain and valleys. On the way you will visit the Sayh Plateau at 1.100m above sea level. You can enjoy a spectacular view towards Dibba and the canyon at 1.600m and we will show you a wall with fossils dating back several million years. The way back we will pass the Khor Najid for a magnificent view over the fjord and the Gulf of Oman. At the end of our tour you will visit a centuries old stone house Bait Ul Kufal and the lush natural park of Birkat al-Khaldiyah with its many acacia trees. The trip covers almost 40 km for the round trip.

Khasab City Tour incl.visit of Khasab Fort (02 Hrs)

We will show you the capital of Musandam, Khasab a fishing town and oasis, whith a population of approximately 18,000. Khasab is located at the Strait of Hormuz and overlooking the Gulf of Arabia. Visit to the restored Fort of Khasab, build by the Portuguese in the 16th century. Today the fort has a museum where some Omani handicraft items are displayed. Drive through the town of Khasab with it’s old and new souk. At the end of our tour you will visit the Wadi Qadah with the old village Tawi. At the end of the deep bay you can see prehistoric rock carvings depicting camels, ships and warriors, said to be more than 2.000 years old.
